TRTA Day at the Capitol - Our Mission
The Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA) hosted the Day at the Capitol on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. Attending TRTA members met at the East Lawn of the Texas Capitol at noon for this impactful event! Austin Retired Teachers Association had a good turnout, and in a reserved meeting room for us members wrote postcards to legislators and discussed issues of concern to our members. Members also spent time meeting legislators and time in the gallery. The lines were long, but our spirits were willing. TRTA treated members to a delicious box lunch on the Capitol grounds accompanied by music.

We advocate for sustainable pension systems, affordable healthcare options, and policies that recognize the invaluable contributions of TRS annuitants.
